Shakespeare
Project Book Jackets
Instructor Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv
I used a portrait of Shakespeare as the point of contingence between the covers. He becomes modified in ways his characters face danger, and thus becomes a mirror portraying the parallels between his stories and himself. For instance, in King Lear, Gloucester’s eyes were gouged out; I merely did the same for Shakespeare’s portrait.
