Roadshow

Project Editorial
Instructor Ken Deegan, Brankica Harvey

Experimental editorial art book exploring how a shift in perspective can make all the difference. Taking information from Antiques Roadshow (tv series), I curated and designed content based on themes of: value, price, memory, narrative, and experience. Included are my own writings that are a personal reflection about said topics.

Atlas

Project Identity, Systems
Instructor Ken Deegan, Brankica Harvey

Atlas Cops & Kids Boxing Club is a community based non-profit offering free boxing services to the youth of NYC. The new system is based on the concept of technicality and intricacy. Many expect the sport to be merely about strength. But there are hidden complexities behind every technique and fighting style. The repeated square refers to the square circle boxing ring.

About Herb Species

Project Infographics, Zine
Instructor Larry Buchanan

This is a project about the different types of herb species in New York state. The task was to create a printed atlas of a series of maps depicting information in a graphic way. How can we relay dense information in digestible ways?

IFFI

Project Identity
Instructor Eric Baker

The International Film Festival for Independents, or IFFI for short, is a festival catered to independent filmmakers. Film is an extension of one’s imagination and self, and therefore IFFI embodies the ideals of these creatives, especially individuality.

The identity relies on the changing of the dot, which represents the individual. The dot can move, multiply, divide, come together, and return back to one. In this way, the logo signifies community and individuality at the same time.

Music For Airports

Project Album Design
Instructor Peter Ahlberg

This Brian Eno’s Ambient 1: Music For Airports is an album created for soothing the chaos of a busy airport. Airports are familiar yet disorienting at the same time, thus Helvetica is used in a new way in order to reinforce this idea. The goal of the typography is to have a presence, yet disappear into the noise. Making the familiar, unfamiliar. Juxtaposing the intact, with the destroyed.
